At a National Breastfeeding Symposium held at Hyatt Regency in May, Massy Wood Group was featured as a breastfeeding friendly workplace!
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with The Breastfeeding Association of Trinidad & Tobago, held the symposium to discuss the growing concerns faced by breastfeeding mothers. A study done by the Ministry showed that while women were committed to breastfeeding (which is recognised as the best option for babies 0-6 months), factors such as work responsibilities and breastmilk
substitutes made it increasingly harder for mothers to follow through with it.
Massy Wood Group however, was highlighted as a company that facilitated the needs of breastfeeding mothers to express milk in a secure and comfortable environment, thus allowing them to satisfy the nutrition needs of their babies. The designation of specific rooms and areas across the organisation has allowed us to assist this important process.
This honour reinforces that we are doing a good thing in the area of postnatal care, for our Massy Wood Group mothers and their babies!
